MY NICHES
As every journalist knows, no matter how well-rounded we try to be, there are always certain beats we gravitate toward. These are my "niches" that spark my curiosity and align with my own lived experience. Below are three areas where my reporting feels most at home, along with samples of my other featured work.

Gen Z Culture
I cover Gen Z culture, mental health and the unfiltered realities of adolescence as someone living it. While these topics are often oversimplified or dismissed by the greater media, I focus on honest reporting that reflects how young people actually think, talk and navigate the world. From cultural trends to health conversations to student opinions, I tell stories older generations often misunderstand, giving Gen Z a voice in narratives that are usually told about us, not by us.

Arts & Entertainment
With a deep theater background myself, I’m excited by covering the stories happening both onstage and behind the scenes. In a school culture dominated by sports and academics, I spotlight arts and entertainment as a vibrant, often overlooked space. I love capturing artists in their element by interviewing cast members and directors, filming dancers and bringing backstage moments to life through b-roll. I also prioritize timely coverage, so audiences can discover these productions through my work and be inspired to go experience them and support the arts!

Student Press Rights
I fiercely report on student press rights, focusing on who controls student voices and who tries to silence them. From my own school to districts, states and national contexts, I cover censorship, prior review and the legal battles that shape youth expression. These stories matter because student journalism is often the first place power is challenged. By documenting these fights, I work to protect student voices and show that press freedom begins in classrooms.
